Check out this highly superficial news clip on ABC News about the Rise of India. It is hilariously inaccurate, especially in the part where the reporter asks a woman in a jhuggi how long she's been living there. She replies "Do saal" and he translates "Twenty five years!"

Even funnier really was that the ass called that jhuggi a "middle-class home". Huh? It was obvious that the entire report concentrated on showing India as a poor land with poor people and nothing at all in terms of infra or prosperity. Everything from a low-class 'mandi' to shots of terrible traffic was aimed at that...and there was nothing to show in terms of highrises, commercial buildings etc. The only reference to the economic prowess was showing call-centres and outsourcing as if that is all that Indians do... Sad that Indians actually felt proud watching it. I call it asinine...I found that piece quite a put-off!
Well,I had seen this ad many days back and though I agree that some parts are inaccurate can we deny the poverty depicted in this ad?I find all this growth(8% GDP)
highly skewed.Where is India heading to?
@midnightmare: completely agree!
@trinity: who's denying the poverty depicted in the clip? but is that it?
would you think it an accurate depiction of china if you only talk about the communist government oppression?
The white mans view of India always suits a certain purpose of his.
